Volos - The home of Jason and the Argonauts!
Driving towards the other direction, to the west, you can get to Volos in about 15 minutes (14Km). There is always something to do in Volos, whether it is one of the frequent festivals on the sea side promenade, a new play or concert at one of the indoor/outdoor theatres, dining at one of the “tsipouradika” in the Old Town of Volos, live music of the widest range (from jazz and rock to Greek folk music), a new movie opening at one of the outdoor or indoor cinemas or a dance night at one of the plentiful dance clubs of “Alykes” - the summer club area.
Volos is indeed a town bursting with life and culture but the good part is it never feels “too much” or overcrowded to the visitor. The citizens of Volos take pride in the “Volos way” of having fun which is accessible to everyone from young groups of friends, couples or families to seniors.
